A health companion for you and your partner

A hard day bends the plan. It doesn’t break it.

Maru is an AI you talk to about sleep, training and food. It knows your week and your goals, adapts to how today is going, and keeps a contract you wrote that no model can edit.

  • Never counts calories
  • Your trainer’s plan rules
  • Days light up; nothing breaks

The moment that matters

Built for the day you want to quit.

Any plan works on a good day. Maru is built around the other one. “Not today” is always a button on Today, never hidden in a menu, and what follows is a few taps.

  1. 1 · The reason

    Okay. What’s going on today?

No drive Tired Stressed Short on time Something hurts I’m sick

One tap is enough. If something hurts or you’re sick, resting is the plan, and the day lights up in green.

  2. 2 · Your minimum

    What about the deal?

    Your bad-day minimum

    20 minutes

The first three leg exercises, lighter. If you want to leave at 20, you leave.

Lights the day just like the full session.

Or switch sport: 30 minutes of easy swimming lights it too.

  3. 3 · Your why

Before deciding, listen to your November self.

“I want to reach forty stronger than I was at thirty.”

You recorded it on Nov 29 · 0:15

Whatever you decide is fine. Maru won’t insist.

  4. 4 · No guilt

You rest today. We go on tomorrow.

Nothing to make up and nothing pending.

    Legs move to Thursday.

Tomorrow, if you light it, it’s a comeback.

How it works

A model talks. Maru keeps the contract.

The model is the engine; the product is everything around it. Each job has one model, chosen once, and every proposal passes rules the model can’t change.

  • Your contract

Your goals in numbers and in words, your why, your bad-day minimum and your rules. Maru reads it and can’t change it. You can, calmly: every change waits 72 hours.

  • Your senses

Sleep, heart rate and workouts from Apple Health, with your permission. One-tap check-ins, plate photos and voice notes.

  • A memory you can read

Maru notes patterns, like “sleeps badly after late sessions”. You read them in Memory and delete any of them.

  • Rules before words

Fixed rules review every proposal before it runs and every message before you see it.

Every proposal is reviewed

  • Runs on its own

The short version, a lighter session, moving a session inside the week. You can undo it.

  • Waits for your yes

Restructuring the week, changing your trainer’s plan, telling your partner, a new goal.

  • Never offered

Editing your contract or a limit, diagnosing, fertility or contraception, comparing people.

Three time scales

It adapts by the moment, the week and the season.

Maru never loses sight of where you’re going. It changes how you get there.

The moment

You slept five hours. Today’s session gets lighter before you ask.

The week

A meeting runs late. Legs move to Friday, and the week keeps its sessions.

The season

Every twelve weeks a season closes with your real markers, and you choose the next phase.

Each season has a phase

Planning the next season has no wait; changing the current one takes 72 hours. The phase changes the plan, never the game.

  • Maintenance

The game

Days light up. Nothing breaks.

There are no points and no streak to lose. Each day you show up, even with the minimum, lights a circle and gives Maru’s mark a petal.

4 lit · 1 comeback

Tap the days to light them.

  • Lit

Done, or the minimum version. A lit day has no degrees.

  • Comeback

Lit after a day off, with a gold ring. Coming back is worth more than never stopping.

  • Care

Resting for pain or illness lights the day too, in sage.

  • Open

A day not lit just stays open. It looks like a day still to come.

Each week is kept as a flower in a garden of twelve.

The real scoreboard is your markers, like strength, aerobic capacity and regular sleep, against your own day one. Never against anyone else.

The mark has no face, so it can never look sad at you. The game state comes from fixed rules, not from the model.

Every day

Food without numbers. A plan that stays your trainer’s.

Lunch · just now

Protein: yesVegetables: somePortion: medium

A good base for legs. If you’re hungry at 4, a yogurt and you’re set.

Never counts calories

Take a photo of your plate. Maru reads protein, vegetables and portion in words, and doesn’t keep the photo. No calorie counts and no points for eating less.

Week 3 · your trainer’s plan

Your trainer’s plan rules

Bring the routine from a photo of your trainer’s plan or start from a template. Maru moves days and adjusts intensity; the exercises are your trainer’s call. On Sunday it writes a note for your trainer.

Gym, running, tennis or swimming: any practice lights the day the same.

For two

A team of two. Never a competition.

Maru is made for you and your partner. Each of you has your own contract, your own memory and your own conversation. What you share, you choose.

  • Sharing is by category

Training, energy, your why or your cycle: you turn each one on, and you can turn it off again.

  • Pacts are shared missions

One progress for both of you, like training together twice a week.

  • Never side by side

Maru never compares you and never puts your data next to theirs to measure it.

  • A cycle belongs to its owner

If one of you tracks a menstrual cycle, Maru can adapt training to it. Only that person decides whether it is shared, and it is never used for fertility or contraception.

What Maru won’t do

Some things no model gets to decide.

A fixed guard checks every message before you read it. These rules live in code, not in a prompt.

  • Count calories, or give points for eating less.
  • Use guilt, broken streaks or a “perfect week”.
  • Rank you, or compare you with anyone.
  • Diagnose, or stand in for your doctor.
  • Touch fertility or contraception.
  • Edit your contract, or lift one of its limits.
  • Pretend it isn’t an AI. Every conversation says that it is.
  • Carry on when something sounds like a crisis. The crisis protocol comes first, with people who can help.

Privacy

Plainly: where your data goes.

Maru has a server and talks to AI models. Here is what goes where; the full policy has the details.

  • On your phone

The conversation thread, kept for the current day only and out of backups. Raw Apple Health samples. Your cycle dates. Photo metadata, removed before a photo leaves.

  • On Maru’s server

Your contract, plan and week, a daily summary of your health data, what your plates had, and the patterns memory keeps, which you can read and delete.

  • With the models

Only what each moment needs, sent to models hosted in the EU that don’t store it or train on it. Never your name, email, location or cycle dates.

  • Never

Ads, selling your data, or health data in iCloud. Your account is Sign in with Apple, so there is no Maru password to leak.
